November 20, 2013

Hurricane Grill & Wings, an island-inspired themed restaurant, will open its latest location at 11 a.m. Monday in the Renaissance Commons shopping center, featuring specialty wings, sauces and rubs. The first 100 people in line will receive free wings for a year

The first of five locations planned in the Palm Beach County and north Broward markets by Casual Dining Ventures, Inc., a South Florida corporation, the franchise has been on an aggressive national expansion campaign, opening locations in New York and Georgia over the past year.

Their first location opened in 1995 in Fort Pierce.

“This is a huge milestone for Hurricane Grill & Wings and we are excited to continue our growth,” said Martin O’Dowd, president of Hurricane Grill & Wings.

“We look forward to bringing our tropical twist and delicious food to the Boynton Beachcommunity and we’re sure Hurricane Grill & Wings in Renaissance Commons will be a great dining option for local residents.”

“Hurricane Grill & Wings in Boynton Beach hopes to be a strong partner within the community,” said Peter Guala, one of the partners of the venture, along with Tom Markert.

“We are committed to offering great service, quality food and a lot of fun,” he said.

The restaurant features a private surf shack for get-togethers accommodating up to 40 people, multiple televisions and an outdoor patio and bar.

The restaurant will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and will make a $500 donation to the local nonprofit agency, Little Smiles, which provides toys, games, DVDs and computers for children in local hospitals, hospices and shelters throughout South Florida.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to celebrate at the restaurant’s grand opening with music by local rock band Grindstone.

To cap off the opening, there will be a wing-eating contest, featuring local fire and police chiefs, disc jockeys and students.
