Visiting the owners in their restaurants is the best part of my job

September 19, 2012

This last weekend I was able to shoot down to San Antonio to attend the graduation of my nephew, Tim Johnson, from the Air Force boot camp, and get some time with his brother Caleb who is currently serving in the Air Force on the Royal AFB in Great Britain. It was great to spend time with the extended family that also flew in from out of town, and to have dinner with everyone at the Hurricane Grill & Wings, and let them experience our great food first hand. They all loved the food and we had a great time celebrating the graduation along with several birthdays that all occur around this time of year. There was definitely something for everyone on the menu which is one of the reasons our brand works so well all around the country. Tim’s favorite was our Black Angus Burger, but the Mahi fish tacos, the jumbo wings and the fried pickles were also big hits with the family. My mother in law loved her grilled Salmon, and everyone loved the conch fritters which they had never heard of before. I also got some time to hang with the restaurant staff, visit with Bill and his wonderful wife Marti, and tour the restaurant, which is always fun! They are all really cool people and experiencing great success which is great to see first hand. We ended the meal with a huge birthday cake they custom ordered for us which was delicious. Even though we are definitely known for our great food, it is our people that make us so special. The warmth, hospitality, and “Live With Flavor” attitude of everyone just makes it fun to be a part of the team.
